#11 - The Hartford Wheelers
Tyler Seguin
Welcome to the league boys, you've got a big mountain to climb ahead of you. Though you may not be surprised to find The Hartford Wheelers in this postion as this is just their first season as Co-Owners/GMs, consider this: Last year this franchise was dead last in the preseason rankings and not one GM had this team higher than 11th place. After what looks to be a solid draft, The Hartford Wheelers not only moved up a spot, but received a vote to be a top six team this year by one of their piers.
Goom and Chimmer have a solid young core that they can build around moving forward. That core consists of Tyler Seguin, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Mikko Koivu, Alex Pietrangelo, Brayden Schenn, and all of a sudden Justin Shultz who could be the steal of this years draft as he was selected in the 7th round 81st overall. (Check out the AHL scoring race). With these players and maybe a trade here or there this team could surprise a bunch of people as soon as this year.

Other notables that they were able to snag in the draft were, Pascal Dupius in the 8th round (96th overall), TJ Oshie in the 3rd round (31st overall), and Andrew Ladd in the 6th round (71st overall) #Jetsareblowingupthisyear. There goaltending is solid with Mike Smith and Illya Bryzgalov leading the way and their minors aren't too shabby either with Schenn, Read, and Johansen all ready to make an impact in the NHL.
All in all I'm not surprised this team ended up in the 11 spot, as you have to earn the respect of your opposing GMs, but I would not be completely shocked if this team was fighting for a playoff spot at the end of the season.
Tomorrow #10 is up, will it be you?
