#10 - Gorilla Warfare
Jonathan (Great Name) Quick
Lynchy is the first casualty of the previous six TOFHL champs on our list of preseason rankings at number 10. It's hard to imagine a team with players like Stamkos, Parise, and Quick can be this low in the rankings, but I think depth played a big part in the leagues decision on this one.
After an offseason filled with moves, it was clear that Lynch had passed the torch onto Jonathan Quick and Corey Schnieder as his franchise goalies moving forward. He traded away his first round pick and Jeff Skinner to land highly touted Vladimir Tarasenko. So clearly he knew his team might take a hit this year to be more profitable down the line. Gorilla Warfare did not have a pick in the 1st two rounds and finally selected David Backes (To the Future) in the 3rd round (30th overall). He also added Michael Ryder in the 3rd round with his 2nd pick in the 2012 draft.
With Gorilla Warfare's core in tact, you can never count them out as any given week they can all bust out at the same time and you would have no chance. Appart from many of the other teams, thats what makes this team a VERY dangerous threat. If they are able to get in the playoffs he would most certainly have a chance at his 2nd TOFHL cup. Will Gorilla Warfare be consistant enough throughout the season to make the playoffs though? The other players on the team just need to look to Stammer as he is the model of consistency. If they follow his lead, look out, we might have our dark horse team for the 2013 TOFHL Cup right here.
#9 comes out tomorrow, this one was a BIG surprise.
